The carving on this guitar tells the story of life and the interconnectedness of all things, beginning with the symbolic lotus starting from a single point and opening into
the flowering sun of peace. This bright flower within all of our hearts, the light of love, inspires the intertwining branches of the Tree of Life which represents all of creation. All connected, all one, all love!

“Sun and Moon, Day and Night"​

The giver of light and the shifter of tides, this carving honors our sun and moon, as well as day and night with an Aztec-esque inspired design. Starting on the front with the swirling, crystalline, and geometric rays emanating from the smiling face of the sun, this
carving wraps around the body of the guitar to flow into the moon, whose “tears of joy” are made of the same light as the sun. Their symbiotic and timeless relationship is shown in the similar construction and fine lines of the carving. A star hangs from the moon, completing the night sky motif. The duality of day and night merge into one musical vessel in this work of functional art.

​“Medicine Man”

A singing and howling wolf adorned with a native headdress prominently stands out on this guitar, honoring native traditions, culture, and peoples throughout the world. The darker color of the African mahogany, juxtaposed against the lighter maple background, shows their differences and yet how the two are capable of working together in harmony. Calling to light the atrocities that have been committed against native peoples everywhere, this guitar was created to help usher in a new era of respect and redemption for all native tribes who have been taken advantage of for centuries. A portion of all proceeds from the sale of this model go to support native peoples in their plight to regain their lands, heritage, autonomy, and dignity.

“Stripes”

A plethora of exotic woods are magically joined together in this piece which features a 2” thick and 1” wide strip of solid genuine ebony. You won’t find much more than a fretboard’s worth of ebony on any mainstream guitar. The rock solid density of the ebony is reflected in the bold tonal quality that emanates from this guitar. The transparent pick guard allows you to see the “guts” of the electronic components as well as the full striping of the woods, bringing about a marriage of industrial style with organic, earthy, raw natural beauty.

“Psychedelia”

As the name suggests, this guitar was created with the counterculture of the 60s and 70s in mind, but with a modern twist. This guitar is one of the best examples of why we do not use any paints, stains, or dies on any of our instruments. To answer one of our most asked questions: YES, those purples, reds, yellows, and oranges are REALLY the natural color of the woods. This instrument features the appropriately named tigerwood sides, deep purpleheart fretboard and body stripes, rare black limba handmade pick guard, and abalone toped volume/tone knobs. We are bringing back into style peace, love, and free self-expression with this throwback-modern color feast, Instrument of Peace.

“The Amoeba”

At one time referred to as “The Artist’s Palette”, this 100% original Heartsong Instruments of Peace body design was dubbed “The Amoeba” on more than one occasion, and the name stuck. More than just a funky shape, this guitar is carefully crafted to not only be eco-friendly by using as little wood as possible, but also to ergonomically improve the player’s experience.
A slightly deeper cutaway on the body below the 21st fret, allows more comfort to wail on the highest of notes possible on the guitar. There is another removal of unnecessary wood near the input jack as well as a shortened top left horn of the body near the neck- side strap button. Following that horn around the body, notice the deep cutaway of the topside of the guitar when in playing position, helping to hug the players body just right. We kept a large surface area of wood where you might traditionally rest your arm, for exactly that reason. Heres to an eco-conscious, new and improved version of the electric guitar exemplifying comfort, style, innovative design, and artistic functionality.
